"This was probably one the best massages I've ever had. The therapist was so nice and positive. And you could really feel she knows what she’s doing. I mean massage can’t get any better than this. And that’s exactly how you want to feel in a hotel room after six hours flight. Thanks LMT."

Thai Massage

A Thai massage was developed in India by Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha who was Buddha's physician and was brought to Thailand by Shivago Komarpaj about 2500 years ago. After that its Ayurvedic techniques and principles were influenced by traditional Chinese medicine.
During the massage you're fully clothed and the massage is performed on a floor or a mattress. It is combined with gentle but firm acupressure on the body with palms and thumbs along the energy lines of the body, as well as relaxing yoga-like stretching of the limb and back.
This massage is often described as both relaxing and energizing. Some describes the experience as Thai yoga massage but without any work because the masseuse uses his feet, legs, knees and hands to move person into a series of yoga-like stretches.
The aim of the massage is to unblock death and stranded energy and this way to support the body’s own life energy to flow without restrain.
Thai massage is best known for its stress and tension relieving effects that stimulate the relaxation of the body and mind. It is also renowned for its energizing and energy increasing affects. Another of the benefits is motion range increase and improvement. It can also help with physical problems like bad posture, back pain and stiffness of neck and shoulders.
In spite of all the benefits mentioned above there are certain cases when Thai massage shouldn’t be applied. You should avoid it if you suffer from osteoporosis or if you have very brittle bones, spinal fusions or artificial hip, knee or elbow joints, phlebitis, haemophilia or lymphatic cancer. It is also imperative that you inform your therapist with any of the above and thus to avoid medical problems in the future as a result of unsuitable and improper therapy.
